No matter how you see it, glam rock is coming back in a big way with the Scissor Sisters, The Darkness, We Are The Fury and Semi Precious Weapons leading the charge. But very soon we might add another name to the list of the revivalist movement.
This potential name hails from San Diego's prolific alt-rock scene and fuses pop-punk with a heavy helping of Billy Idol/David Bowie-inspired high energy, strobe lights and of course, the glam rock that turned both into international superstars back in the 1980s. Coming off a West Coast slot on Warped Tour and having seen the stage with Jeffree Star, The Secret Handshake and Family Force 5, 2011 might just be the year of indie breakout for this glam pop/alt-rock foursome.
This is why So Long Davey is a You Gotta Know in December.

In 2007, So Long Davey! flashed on the scene like a strobe light at a dance party. Known for their high-energy live show and glam-infused dance-rock, So Long Davey! is like a high speed collision of Fall Out Boy and Ziggy Stardust. Influentially, the band takes from new wave and current music muses, like their hometown of San Diego’s pop-punk scene. Still, So Long Davey! is very left of the middle yet packed with radio-ready rock hits. So Long Davey! has performed on Vans’
Warped Tour, performed with national touring acts Artist VS Poet, Say Anything, Jeffree Star and Sum 41, and have been featured time and again on the hottest industry music blogs, Kings of A&R. Their latest release, The Fashion, includes the addictive single “Love Hurts” and can be purchased on iTunes and select Hot Topic stores.
