Allstar Weekend
Allstar Weekend are no strangers to Musiqtone, but we wanted to catch up with them on the All The Way Tour to see what they were doing since making a few changes.

Hailey Sager: Hi, my name is Hailey Sager thank you for answering questions for us at Musiqtone! Will you please introduce yourself and what you do in Allstar Weekend?
Zach Porter: Hey I'm uhhhh ummm (shaking) Zach. I uhhhh sorta sing I think... Sorry I'm a little nervous.

HS: As a fan, I first saw Allstar Weekend as Allstar at a small venue in Fort Myers, Florida. At the time you had just signed with Hollywood Records. There were a few technical difficulties and the crowd wasn’t that large, but as a band you performed like it was Madison Square Garden, and that was awesome to see!  Now, a few years later you have a slight change in your line-up, as well as parting ways from your label, but you are selling out many dates on tour!  How does it feel to have your fan base continue to grow and support the band no matter what?
ZP: It makes me feel really good because we've been through a lot and it's good to know that no matter what they'll always be there for us. We go through things together.

HS: Over the last few years, Allstar Weekend has been on multiple tours, have there been any positive or negative differences in any of the tours?
ZP: I've liked every tour except for our tour with Selena Gomez. It just wasn't what we expected and some people on our team stabbed us in the back. It makes the whole tour sour and an overall bad experience. There are a lot of shady people in this business and you have to be careful. You don't know who to trust... Dun dun dun...

HS: What has been your favorite place to perform and experience while being in Allstar Weekend?
ZP: Going to Europe was so awesome. I'd never been there before touring with the band and it's cool that the band has allowed us to see so many places.

HS: The All The Way Tour is wrapping up shortly, were there any embarrassing moments on this tour for any of the members of Allstar Weekend?
ZP: Cameron just told a girl her "hair looks so much better this time than last time." He meant it as a compliment obviously but it sounded really mean and she cried for 3 hours (just kidding). He's a funny little man.

HS: What has been your favorite moment on the All The Way Tour?
ZP: Probably just being on stage in general. You feel like you are waiting around all day just for that hour and fifteen minutes you're on stage everyday.

HS: How have things changed for the band, touring and recording wise, since parting ways with Nathan?
ZP: Well there were 4 people and now there are 3. I don't think we've changed though.

HS: Will Allstar Weekend be looking for a fourth full time member, or is the band staying with two touring members?
ZP: As of now, we are staying a 3 piece. It's worked really well on this tour and has been a lot of fun.

HS: So many bands today are successful without a major label. If the opportunity presents itself, would Allstar Weekend sign to another label, or do you want to see how it goes as an unsigned band?
ZP: We wanted to stay unsigned. Not to say we wouldn't consider signing again at some point but for now, we wanna focus on our music and our fans.

HS: With all of these new changes, what do you have planned next after All The Way Tour?
ZP: A lot of writing, hopefully going overseas, and most likely more dates this summer.

HS: Your music has evolved with your age, how has the fan reaction been to the use of profanity and mature references in your songs?
ZP: The people that like Allstar Weekend come to our shows and the people that are offended probably don't. Doesn't really matter to me what people that don't like us think.

HS: A movie is being casted about Allstar Weekend’s journey this far…who would be casted as each member of the band? And what would you want the movie to be called?
ZP: I'd want Adam Sandler to play everybody like Eddie Murphy does in The Nutty Professor. It'd be called, "Stuff Allstar Weekend Has Done."

HS:Thank you for taking the time to sit down with us at Musiqtone! Is there anything you would like to say to your fans before we go?
ZP: Thanks for sticking with us. We're always here if you need us.
