The Countdown
Welcome to THE Countdown, Musiqtone.com's premier voter-driven music video countdown! This is where your voice can be heard as we give you 40 music videos to choose from and only a dozen can be truly called great. And only ONE, ONLY ONE can be called THE champion...well OK champion for seven days because you get to do this every cycle, which is about seven days.

So get voting, vote early, vote often as we count it down from video no. 40 to video numero uno!

The Booth
Welcome to the Voting Booth. This is where the heavy hitting from the heavy hitters happen. Only 12 videos can be called great and one ONE can be called champion. Well champion for 7 days...or however long they reign until they get toppled. 100 votes per session per 24 hours.

The cycle begins 09.01.2010 at 1 pm ET and will go till 09.08.2010 at 10 am ET. The leaderboard is at the very bottom of the page

The Countdown's Ground Rules:
1. No music video may go more than 8 consecutive weeks at no. 1 or 14 non-consecutive weeks of any combination. This is a general principle and can be changed at any time s conditions warrant.

2. NEW GROUND RULE: We are gonna give this a try! We want fansites and the readers/users/fans who go on there to get involved in The Countdown! We have a monitoring system set up and ready to try to make this thing work! The premise is: A fansite of the artist/band whose video is no. 1 for at least 3 consecutive cycles will be profiled on the Musiqtone.com website. The creators will get a mini-interview by us and if applicable, be sent to the record label of the artist/band involved!

3. Voting is heavily monitored and is pre-set to throw out votes done via so-called web proxies. Proxies have historically upped the vote server limits and cause crashes. They have also historically been known to circumvent vote limits as proxies can get past both IP and cookie blocks.

4. Videos in-cycle may be taken off for any reason, not limited to just video age or record label request.

5. The comments board powered by Facebook is not a place to leave feedback or a place to criticize what we do here on The Countdown. If you have complaints, ideas, feedback, please e-mail us at musiqtone@musiqtone.com.

6. Any video in which votes are habitually done via proxies will be immediately expelled from The Countdown.
