We have changed the way Music Video of the Year is done. Instead of shoving 100 videos down your throat on one page and make you scroll all the way down for every of your 50 votes, we are making this VERY INTERESANTE.
We are merging the elements from Music Madness and putting it to the test with Music Video of the Year! 100 videos, 25 from each bracket/general genre:
1. Pop Bracket (Genre Final begins 01/01 at 11:30 am ET.)
2. Alt/Rock Bracket (Genre Final begins 01/01 at 11:30 am ET.)
3. Country Bracket (Genre Final begins 01/01 at 11:30 am ET.
4. R&B/Hip-Hop/Rap Bracket (TBA)
This is the dealio:
Each bracket has 25 videos. The first round goes for one
week like The Countdown. The Pop and Country sides go first. The R&b/Hip-Hop and Alt-Rock brackets for the first round kick off 72 hours later!
This is where we get interesting in the second round and beyond. At the end of the second round, there will be a total of 32 videos left (the field of 32 ). The third round will be the Sweet Sixteen, then we go into the Elite Eight (semi-final) where we do away with genres, re-seed and re-position and then the Final Four. The champion is then crowned, Music Video of the Year!
We take this down to only two videos and only ONE can take home Music Video of the Year!
This is it. The final preliminary round of 100. ONE-HUNDRED videos. Only the Top 12 can move on and continue to represent Pop Music. Then we go into the second prelim final of 48. Then we take the Top 8 in each bracket for the real competition.
The round of 32 will continue to be in the genre brackets until the Elite Eight (Top 2 in each) comes and we reseed, reposition regardless of genre.
So EVERY VOTE COUNTS. If you want to see any of these 12 move on to the 8 available slots for each bracket, MAKE THEM COUNT! This final prelim round ends Saturday December 22 at 11:59 pm ET! MAKE EVERY VOTE (ALL 100) COUNT.

The Genre Finals begins 01/01/2013 at 11:30 am ET and ends 01/11/2013 at 11:59 pm ET. UNLIKE THE COUNTDOWN, THERE WILL BE NO LEADERBOARD UPDATES IN THIS ROUND.
