The British Invasion of pop music continues to rage on here in North America and especially the United States.  Introduce the UK’s latest target, Little Mix to the proverbial mix!  The 2011 winner of the original X-Factor on the other side of the pond, the high-profile all girl pop quartet did not even start out as such, they all began their run as soloists and much like their more recent American counterparts Fifth Harmony from the last season of the US edition, they all failed to get out of bootcamp and eventually formed as a group after they all failed to get out of the judge’s homes as individual groups.  And also like their American counterparts, they went through a name change (there was already a group called Rhythmix) before becoming Little Mix.

Little Mix’s sound is a decided throwback to the glory years of all-girl pop/R&B groups like Destiny’s Child, TLC and En Vogue, but updating it to a more 21st century audience.  They are indeed your classic all-girl group, capable of fantastic harmonizing with plenty of soul, pulse-pounding electronic beats and make no mistake, these girls are definitely British.  Their debut album DNA already has done relatively well in their native UK, peaking at no. 3 and also in Ireland, charting as high as no. 3 as well.  In addition their pop anthem “Wings” debuted at no. 1 in their native UK, went platinum in Australia and its accompanying video to date has been seen over 46 million times, all helping to fuel what is widely expected to be a raucous North American debut as they set their sights on the US and Canada!

DNA will hit the US and Canada on May 28 via Syco/Columbia Records.  The girls will make their US tv debut June 7th in New York City for ABC’s Good Morning America.

Get prepared for not just one, not two, not three, but a four-way all girl punch ready to conquer this side of the Atlantic with their awesomely fantastic take on old school, all-girl R&B and pop!
