The Spotlight

Who:  Sainte

For fans of:  We Are The In Crowd, Paramore, The Summer Set, Go Radio

Sometimes you just need a band change to freshen things up, rethink the approach and just simple start over again.  And for Tay Jardine and We Are The In Crowd, it simply was time.

Welcome to Sainte, comprised of 3/5 of WATIC, Tay, Cameron Hurley and Mike Ferri.  Original WATIC members Jordan Eckes (co-vocalist/guitarist) and Rob Chianelli (drummer) elected to not continue on.

The vibe of Sainte is a stark difference from We Are The In Crowd, who were rooted into the height of pop-punk in the late 2000s, early 2010s that were dominated by the likes of All Time Low, New Found Glory and You Me At Six.  The music videos from Sainte evoke a current Paramore visual but with a decidedly more pop/rock sound that is more in line with The Summer Set and Go Radio combined with a teeming vulnerability from Tay that really was not captured on either WATIC release.

“I was constantly finding it really difficult to really, to truly be myself on stage or on record. Frustration pushed me to want to create something that felt more natural,” Jardine explained in an interview done last December with AP.  “However, this is not a goodbye for We Are The In Crowd, more of a ‘BRB.'”

Their debut EP is out as of June 30 titled Smile, And Wave.  The Spotlight says:  Sainte are here to stay.
