Review written by: Jackie Browne
My first listen to 'Hello' was so-so; I was not impressed with the way Amy Heidermann, lead singer, presented herself in her vocals. After listening to this album a few times I've grown to like a few songs, which helped Karmin bring in listeners. I've gone ahead and broken down the album song by song so you can get a feel to the album..

Walking On The Moon - 'Walking On The Moon' has a great beat to it, and I really liked how the lyrics tied in together. As for Amy being a rapper, I really can't see it, as I feel she'd be better off being a singer. The song itself brought in a Michael Jackson reference in the beginning, "Feeling like I got my MJ shoes on." I'm a huge MJ fan so this brought a smile to my face.

Brokenhearted - 'Brokenhearted' is a song that mostly everyone knows if you listen to top 40. It's been around the airwaves for a while now, and it's a great song to work out too. This song really suits Amy’s voice, actually, a lot more than most songs on the album. I feel like this was a great song to be a hit because it got Karmin out there, also a lot of people can relate to being brokenhearted.

I Told You So - 'I Told You So' opens up with a dancey feel, and it reminded me of that time when Demi Lovato posted a video of herself dancing. Demi was practicing for her birthday party, and the opening beat of 'I Told You So' brought me back to that song Demi used in her video: 'Drop It Low' although it's not exactly the same, I can feel the similarity in the beat. The beat would be great for a dance club.

Too Many Fish - 'Too Many Fish' right off the bat, the beat for this song is killer. This is a song that will get stuck in your head, and you'll be slapping yourself later for getting it stuck there. Before I listened to this song I guess on the song meaning. The title gives it away - it's about too many fish in the sea, which of course relates to men.

I'm Just Sayin' - 'I'm Just Sayin' is a song that I can see being a hit on top 40, radio. This is a song that will be an ear worm and get stuck in your head. I also feel like this song is one of the better ones off of the album. The beat is great, and will have your feet tapping.

Coming Up Strong - 'Coming Up Strong' is another great song, it has a slower feel and again is an ear worm. This song is very repetitive which makes me pull back but then the beat brings me back.

Hello - 'Hello' is the track that the album is based off of. It feels like a great dance song that you would hear in a club. This song is the album's main focus which is great because it's saying hello. This song again is top 40 material, Karmin really nailed it on this song.

My overall experience with Karmin’s album - ‘Hello’ was so-so. I was expecting something different. The music is out of my comfort zone so I had to branch out and come out of my shell. I think if I hadn’t set any expectations I would have loved this album. Take a listen to the album and leave a comment below. Tell me if you agree or disagree with what I’ve written.
